”Acasă, My Home” Documentary

About the partnership

Description

For us 2020 also meant partnering with the ”Acasă, My home” documentary team - the story of a family with nine children who lived for more than 20 years in the delta from the heart of the Capital, forced to adapt to social life in the middle of the city, due to the attribution of the status of natural park to the area where they lived and their move to the urban space itself.

For Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan, producer of the movie, and Radu Ciorniciuc, the movie's director, the partnership was essential to take the story abroad, all the way to the States. The curiosity and interest that the movie gained with the promotion, completed the work done by the whole team for four years – and it meant a dream come true, which would have been "just a half-finished job" in the absence of our partnership, as Radu Ciorniciuc himself mentions. ”Acasă, My home” is the first Romanian documentary selected in the official competition at the Sundance Festival and the winner of the Special Jury Prize for best picture. Throughout 2020 the documentary won an impressive number of awards at international film competitions worldwide. It was also on the contenders list for the Academy Awards.

What complements our partnership is the support we provide to the Enache family who had to adapt to an urban context, to which "you could not be a mere viewer, an observer" as Monica says. The whole family went through a complex integration process and we wanted to provide them integrated support, adapted to their needs.

“We believe that this partnership was essential to take the story abroad, all the way to the States. The curiosity and interest that the movie gained with the promotion, completed the work done by the whole team for four years – and it meant a dream come true, which would have been just a half-finished job.”
